THE CFK DONATES ENVI SOFTWARE TO MAKERERE

Last week, the Council for Frontiers of Knowledge (The CFK) with generous support from Tullow Oil, Dublin and London has purchased for Makerere University a Software called ENVI (Environment for Visualising Images).

ENVI is used for Geospatial imagery to evaluate biodiversity, detect and identify targets, plan emergency response efforts and a variety of other applications important to understanding the world around you. ENVI is the premier software solution for processing and analyzing geospatial imagery and is designed to be used by everyone from GIS professionals to image analysts and image scientists, regardless of prior experience with imagery.


The ENVI Network Floating Academic License is installed in The CFK Africa Office at Makerere University Main Campus, CEDAT Old Building, wing M3. It is available for use by the entire Scientific Community of Makerere University and beyond.
