CALL FOR ARTICLES

Coppy of The makererean
The Makerere university Community;

Gallant Makererean, as you immerse yourselves into the examination period, allow me on behalf of The Makererean news paper to bring the following to your attention.

The Makererean is a university news paper that provides an opportunity for all those who have interest in writing to do so. It is through this paper that the public gets to know what we students of this great Ivory Tower are capable of delivering in terms of writing to inform and educate. The content o f this paper mainly focuses on the university issues in relation to the nation as we all know that Makerere is Uganda summarized.
It has been a while since some of you heard about this news paper and it is not surprising that some of you are learning of it for the first time. The news paper is around though it has not been possible for it to be published frequently and circulated to most of you. This has been due to financial issues and the small number of published copies.

The management of this news paper does not segregate anybody on any grounds whatsoever. Everyone of you has an equal opportunity of having their article in this paper. It is upon this background that we call upon all of you to come on board and participate in the running of this paper. It does not matter which college, school or department you belong to. What is most important is the article that you submit for publication.  In fact it is not late to begin or improve on that writing talent that God has endowed you with. Just get serious about it and you will surely live to admire your time at Makerere University.

Those who would love to be correspondents from your area, that is, hall of residence, hostel, college and school can send an email on themakererean2013@gmail.com. The rest of you who have the art of writing and really love it, send us that hot story from your area on the same email (themakererean2013@gmail.com). Stories that directly concern Makerere University will attract special attention from the editors.
 Our main objective is to reach a fortnight level though for now we are working on a monthly. We request all those with good intention for this paper and would love to support it in any way to come on board and do so. Otherwise, you can check out the current updates on our blog, themakererean.blogspot.com. Also like us on Facebook, THE MAKEREREAN and follow us on Twitter @Themakererean for interactive discussions and updates on current and developing issues around campus as we “unveil the hidden truth” while building for the future. Aluta Continua.
