CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN

Gallant Makerereans, I. Write this article with great honour and with due respect for all Makereans and all readers. For long, decisions have been made based on various considerations, but now is the time to put our intellect to test. It’s evident that to a larger extent, things are not okay, not even in the interest of the majority students. I therefore, with great humility, call upon any single Makererean to objectively open up their mind and realize what could empower a Makererean in his/her capacity as a student, regardless of their size,colour,age,or even year of study. Now is the time to call off individual interests and appreciate the interests of Makererean.

MAKERERE UNIVERSITY

We owe a lot to the younger generation, even our own children and as well as our grandchildren. The decisions we make today, shall greatly determine whether they can have the quality education that the then Ugandan child shall need. Our decisions can as well give our poor parents and neighbors back in our villages, who dig day by day with the hope of providing quality education to their children in such a great institution.
I know we can surely give them hope; we simply need to be independent in our decisions. We should no longer be compromised by the interests of small groups of people at the expense of Makerereans.
Fellow intellectuals, it’s time for MAKEREREANS TO OWN MAKERERE. In that, we shall truly hope and believe, as "WE BUILD FOR THE FUTURE"
